Whoooaahhhh - I started exercising!

When do mothers of young children exercise? NEVER! Chasing after kids is exercise in itself - or at least that’s what I’ve been telling myself for the past 4 years. I’ve had bouts of exercising in the past 4 years - when I was on maternity leave with Kellan, I got into a great routine.

When I worked full-time, it was particularly tough. I had a step counter for a while, and used that to make myself more active when I was playing with Noah.

The day has finally arrived - Noah just started Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten, and his hours at school are 8:30 to 2:30 which gives me an extra ½ hour to hour every day. What I started doing last week was to still go to work at 7 AM and take 30 minutes to walk outside the building. So now I’m in my office about 7:30.

It feels good to have a little bit of time to myself. I’m sure schedules will change again, and I may lose that 30 minutes I have for myself every day, but for now, I will cherish it - and listen to our OFM podcast and Tom’s podcast. And maybe I’ll start to listen to some other podcasts too.

When we lived in LA, I used to listen to talk radio during my two hours of commute every day. Listening to podcasts is pretty similar, except you choose who you listen to. Looking foward to it!

To be honest, the exercising hasn’t given me the kind of euphoria that I was expecting. Maybe I’m not doing it long enough of sigh enough intensity, or maybe I just had a week full of strange things that were occupying my mind. Nevertheless, I hope to keep exercising (once we get back from Turkey), and hopefully I’ll get the feeling of euphoria (or lose a little bit of weight which is very welcome in my life).
