Update on the tubes
The surgery took place on January 2, 2008, and went as well as expected. For one night, Kellan didn’t ask to nurse at night. He had some apple juice around 3:30 but didn’t ask for anything else to drink all night. He did ask to breastfeed a bunch before the surgery – nothing like not being able to comfort your child. After the surgery, they made him drink some juice, but as soon as he took a few sips, he was able to breastfeed – thankfully!
All is well. We’ll see how long before his next ear infection.

Thanks for listening. Yeah, I agree, the tubes, though we were scared of them at first, turned out to be the best thing. I’m both glad we waited until we knew he needed them and relieved that they’ve worked so well. Thanks for listening and commenting.

Just chining in from AV Rant on the Ear Tubes. My oldest (now nearly 6) had 12 ear infections from age 1 through 3. In fact she had 6 in 6 months over one winter. (I’m sure it was the same infection that never really cleared up. Our ENT had us try all the antibiotics first then agreed tubes were the answer. We’re on our second set (first set had one tube come loose and we had them both replaced). Nary an ear tickle over the past 2 years!
We know her ears are working fine based on the results of the hearing tests..so why doesn’t she ever listen to us?
I’ve d/l-ed 10 episodes to catch up on OFM (I just found it) but from the few I’ve listened to, it’s gonna be a fun ride!
