About Captain Evil

Captain Evil came into this world on St. Patrick’s Day 2006 and quickly taught his parents the joy of having a laid-back baby. His parents had the bright idea of keeping him home for the first part of his life by both working part-time (and pulling his older brother out of school to be able to afford it). Staying home didn’t seem to keep him from getting ear infections as he began with his first when he was 2 weeks old, had three more before he started school when he was 10 months old, and a total of ten by the time he had tube surgery in January 2008.

He has attended Montessori school since he was 10 months old and is described by his teacher as being a party animal. Captain Evil loves people (yes, even strangers) and is willing to try a wide variety of foods.

Captain Evil’s nickname comes from the fact that he loves to stay up late and sleep late in the mornings. As cranky as he may get during the day, his best moods and cutest actions come at times when little boys should be fast asleep. Since he was 6 months old, his parents have had to be vigilant about limiting his naps to ensure he goes to sleep before 10 PM (which usually fails). His parents have gotten screwed way too many times by a ‘nap’ from 8:30 to 9:00 PM which they thought was an early bedtime.

Captain Evil’s favorite activities are doing whatever his brother is doing, antagonizing his brother, and generally being cute while doing it. He loves to laugh and is starting to develop his own personality and sense of humor. He’s a huge fan of Raffi (much to his father’s dismay) and demands Baby Beluga (which he calls “Blue”) on even the shortest of car rides. His jumping ability is slowly developing and he’s learning to throw blocks (usually at his brother) with alarming accuracy. While he has an interest in TV and movies, he doesn’t seem to have the patience to actually sit through a whole program. He’ll often request Elmo or Bob the Builder just to walk away after five minutes or so. His parents consider this a good thing.
